H1B FY 2016 quota cap reached
On April 7, 2015, USCIS announced that the H1B cap for the 2016 fiscal year has been reached. In addition, the U.S advanced degree exemption has also been met.
USCIS will randomly select petitions using a computer generated process to meet the 65,000 visas under the regular cap and the 20,000 visas under the advanced degree exemption.
Due to high number of filings, USCIS will first complete the intake. USCIS has not yet announced a lottery date.
